Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Landscape Project Manager/Estimator to join our team. This hybrid position allows for a mix of remote work and on-site presence. The ideal candidate will manage landscape projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for estimating project costs and preparing detailed proposals for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Oversee landscape construction projects from planning to completion, managing timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Coordinate with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and landscape architects to ensure project requirements are met.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all tasks.
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful project delivery.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality control and adherence to specifications.
- Manage post-construction processes, addressing any close-out documents, punch lists, and job walks.
Estimating:
- Perform accurate cost estimates for landscape construction projects, ensuring budgets align with project goals.
- Analyze project specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required resources.
- Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive project proposals to clients.
- Review and negotiate contracts with clients and subcontractors.
- Ensure profitability through the preparation of competitive proposals.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Manage and distribute change orders, requests for information, submittals, and any other crucial project documents to the appropriate parties in a timely manner.
- Maintain detailed documentation for all phases of the project, reporting on progress and financials to leadership.
- Track and analyze financial performance, ensuring profitability and efficiency.
- Responsible for billing projects to reflect actual job progress.
Client Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Address client concerns and provide regular updates on project status.
- Maintain continuous client interaction to ensure overall satisfaction and up-to-date progress.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure repeat business and referrals.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and supervise project teams, including crew leaders and landscaping crew members.
- Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure high-quality work and adherence to safety standards.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Coordination and Scheduling:
- Schedule work, labor, and materials with the production manager.
- Track progress and coordinate scheduling with the production manager.
- Order materials and manage sub-contractors to ensure timely project execution.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in landscape project management and estimating.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in estimating software and project management tools.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape plans and specifications.
- Knowledge of landscaping materials, methods, and industry standards.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Solid understanding of managing labor and material costs.
Reporting Structure:
- The Project Manager/Estimator will report to the General Manager
