What are the responsibilities and job description for the District Gifted Intervention Specialist position at Greeneview Local School District?
Applicant must demonstrate:
The ability to effectively plan and teach lessons that support and extend the New State Learning Standards and meet the needs of gifted learners
The ability to make and carry out long-range instructional and program planning
An understanding of best practices for quality instruction and student achievement
The ability to differentiate instruction to accommodate learners with multiple ability levels in the regular classroom and small group settings
The ability and willingness to work as part of a team of classroom teachers and administrators to plan how to best meet the needs of students.
The willingness to be an instructional coach and resource for classroom teachers, consulting and providing information and suggestions for strategies, modifications, and materials that will challenge gifted students and maximize their achievement
The willingness to be a resource for parents of gifted students
The ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and teachers
The ability to keep accurate and thorough records
A comprehensive understanding of laws regarding gifted education, including identification practices and procedures
An understanding of multiple delivery models for gifted education
An understanding of student reporting for the State EMIS
A record of consistently managing paperwork and handling work assignments in a timely manner
The ability to support whole grade and individualized gifted testing
A willingness to provide professional learning to teachers
