Summary: Greenfield Engineering is seeking a Journey level Field Support Representative to support the development, test and fielding of the H-53 helicopter software support activity. Candidate will directly support operational squadrons with technical expertise on mission systems operation, typical operational scenarios and advanced troubleshooting techniques. Candidate will provide technical continuity and training at the squadron level as Marines learn new mission systems. Candidate will serve as the technical conduit between squadron, software support activities and program office. This is a full time on-site position at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina. Working knowledge of computers, test tools and MIL-STD-1553 is required.
Responsibilities
- Act as the liaison between the operational squadron and the development / engineering activity / FST/ SSA / ITT
- Work alongside service members and FST to ensure functional capability of avionics
- Perform and Support Software loading on-site
- Oversee Toughbook loader maintenance to include STIGs and scans
- Maintain load procedures (write, test, review, re-write)
- Troubleshoot software issues found in the fleet, test, and/or lab
- Disposition formal (VTAMP) and informal Fleet requests for support
- Evaluate issues to reproduce, validate, investigate and aid in work-around definitions
- Support TD development and observe verification
- Maintain technical continuity and training at the squadron
Desired Experience
- Understands and maintains basic test aircraft and equipment configurations
- Working knowledge of the H-53 helicopter
- Familiarity with fleet support initiatives
- Basic understanding of software loading of avionics
- Thorough understanding of military avionics and subsystem
Security Clearance Required: Secret
Telework: This position is may be eligible for reoccurring telework, and will require an onsite presence at the MCAS Facility for greater than or equal to 90% of the work week.
Required Education: High school diploma or GED and 4 years’ additional work experience. Bachelor's Degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university. (Desired)
Experience: JOURNEYMAN (Mid): A Journeyman level person within a labor category has 3 to 10 years of experience related to the functional duties for that labor category and a BA/BS degree. A Journeyman level person typically performs all functional duties independently.
