Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing patient records, ensuring accurate documentation, and providing exceptional customer service within our Medical clinic. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both clinical staff and patients.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize patient medical records, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Review and verify documentation for completeness and compliance with regulations.
- Assist in the management of front desk operations, including patient check-in and check-out processes.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing inquiries regarding their medical records and services offered.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care.
- Process requests for medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support billing processes by ensuring accurate documentation for insurance claims, including Medicare.
- Assist with training new staff on medical record management procedures as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the clinic's operations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a medical records or administrative role within a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical clinic operations and terminology is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate file management.
- Proficiency in documentation review processes and understanding of compliance standards.
