Responsibilities of the Activities Director:
- Plan and oversee recreational events and programs.
- Create and lead activities like arts and crafts, music, dance, and sports to develop our resident’s social skills and promote active healthy lifestyles.
- Design activities programs and training.
- Manage assistants and other staff.
- Complete the activities department’s MDS sections in a timely fashion.
- Create, monitor, and revise resident care plans.
Qualifications for Activities Director:
- Activity Professionals Certification
- Previous experience in Recreational Planning and Development in a health care setting
- A genuine interest in working closely with the geriatric population and their families
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills, as well as the ability to lead and manage others
