Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) Responsibilities:
- Provide effective occupational therapy interventions under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist (OT).
- Implement individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, and daily living activities for residents.
- Assist residents in overcoming challenges with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Empower residents to regain independence and improve their overall quality of life.
- Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Educate residents and families on therapeutic techniques for improved independence and safety.
- Collaborate with the care team—including OTs, nurses, physical therapists, and speech therapists—for comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in care planning meetings to share insights and contribute to the resident’s progress.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with healthcare regulations.
- Create a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment for residents receiving therapy.

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school with an associate degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Certification by the State of Wisconsin to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
