Classroom Assistant - Severe Needs
About the Position:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Classroom Assistant to support our students with severe needs at Cesar Chavez Elementary.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students with severe needs, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
- Assist teachers in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with severe needs.
- Help create a safe and inclusive learning environment that fosters respect, empathy, and understanding among all students and staff.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in special education or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with students with severe needs, such as autism, intellectual disabilities, or traumatic brain injuries.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff, both verbally and in writing.
