Position Overview:
The Legacy Companies is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and functionality before they reach the market. The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for conducting thorough checks on inbound products, ensuring compliance with company guidelines, and identifying areas for improvement in testing and safety protocols. Additionally, the inspector will collaborate with other departments, including Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Service, to analyze product defects, implement rework actions, and support product development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform quality assessments on a set percentage of products received in the warehouse, following established industry and company standards.
- Measure product dimensions, evaluate functionality, and compare final products to required standards. Communicate findings to ensure proper documentation in company systems.
- Conduct tests at various stages of the product lifecycle, from raw material inspection to final product evaluation.
- Document inspection findings, complete detailed reports, and maintain performance records.
- Report product defects or issues to senior staff, including Engineering and Marketing teams.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team to identify the root cause of defects and assist in product improvement.
- Oversee and control rework actions, whether conducted in-house or at external facilities (USA/Canada), ensuring compliance with protocols and deadlines.
- Provide training and guidance to new Quality Control Inspectors (if required).
- Update and enhance testing protocols and standards to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Estimate and report rework costs prior to initiating rework actions.
- Support the Engineering and Marketing teams in ensuring thorough product testing during the development phase and that specifications are clearly established and documented.
Qualifications:
- Technical proficiency in operating, inspecting, and identifying issues in products.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in using computer systems and software related to product inspections and reporting.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to suggest improvements to processes and products.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in quality control, inspection, or a related field.
- Prior experience in a similar role or industry is highly preferred, particularly in product testing and defect analysis.
Education and Training Requirements:
- A high school diploma is typically required; a bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., quality control, technical communications) is a plus.
- Candidates with additional training or certifications related to quality control or product inspection will be considered an asset.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical inspections and tests of products.
- Comfortable working in warehouse or production environments.
