Your Opportunity:
As an Application Engineer you will provide detailed technical product and application support. You are responsible for product definitions and development. Managing special design requests and oversees the standardization of common requests. Developing training programs and delivers to internal and external customers.
The axial/inline business unit of Greenheck Group produces a variety of exhaust and centrifugal fans, and it is unique because the products are only produced in Wisconsin. This unit builds more than 60,000 fans per year using state of the art automation, robotic weld propellers, and laser cut sheet metal. This business unit is made up of strong leadership who stand by the motto, "Build people first, fans second." They provide top quality industrial fans to customers across the globe while constantly designing new products and accessories to meet the growing customer demands.
What you'll be doing:
- Provide technical support via phone and e-mail for both internal and external salespeople in the areas of product selection and application.
- Develop and communicate solutions for unique applications including design and special pricing.
- May travel to resolve field problems.
- Develop and find solutions to field application problems.
- May negotiate with internal and external customers.
- Provide technical product application support. Understand requirements for challenging applications.
- May develop solutions for challenging applications in compliance with industry codes and standards.
- Assist/manage the development and updating of product literature.
- Responsible for identifying key selling points.
- Responsible for developing market studies.
- Assist with product health analysis.
- Prepare detailed product definitions and related marketing functions associated with product development process.
- Evaluates components for quality, reliability and performance and advise engineering and purchasing as to those components which might enhance the product.
- Maintain familiarity with competitors’ products and identify opportunities.
- Develop, organize, and present training seminars internally and externally.
- Conduct product training seminars and Product Center visits.
- May assist with planning/coordination and attendance of trade shows.
- May supervise direct reports within the department.
- Coordinate Computer Aided Product Selection (CAPS) planning, testing, and development.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of products within CAPS.
What you should have:
- Work requires a professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, which is equivalent to that which would be acquired by completing a regular four-year college program.
- Between 1-5 years of work experience is required.
