Your opportunity:
As an IT Support Technician, you will assess and recommend hardware and software configurations, installs and maintains PC hardware, software and vendor provided systems. You will also perform diagnostics, trouble shooting, and technical assistance to end users and technical staff. You work directly with end users and effectively communicate procedures and solutions at all levels of user experience in a professional manner.
What you’ll be doing:
- Inspect PC equipment, set up and test PCs and peripherals such as monitors, keyboards, printers, wireless accessories. Prepare PCs for delivery and installation at users work center or shop floor.
- Install, maintain and support operating system software, including the determination of errors and the application of corrections, as necessary.
- Provide first and second level of troubleshooting in resolving problems. Use ticketing software to document and escalate issues to additional support teams.
- Maintain good working relationships with manufacturing vendors and support providers.
- Coordinate the work of vendor representatives assisting in system maintenance or upgrades.
- Diagnose system hardware, software, and operator problems. Recommend or perform minor remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operations.
- Work with IT management to provide proper levels of customer service based on customer needs.
- Work with remote users across corporate environment to provide support with various remote-control software.
- Practice effective time management and prioritization of tasks.
- Work with support personnel in all areas of IT including Networks, Programming, Systems, and Analysis for issue resolution and continuous improvement.
- Develop policies and procedures that outline how problems are identified, documented, assigned, and corrected.
- Attend technical conferences, formal training classes, and seminars to keep abreast of new hardware and software product developments.
- Must be able to work flexible hours to assist with computer maintenance and upgrades.
What you should have:
- High school or GED required.
- 2 Year / Associate Degree preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, MS Windows, iOS. Knowledge of computer hardware and configurations.
- Minimum travel is required
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Greenheck Group takes pride in providing competitive pay along with a comprehensive benefits package as part of our total rewards program. The starting base pay range for this position is $49,396 - $66,829 and may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
