Your opportunity :

As a Manufacturing Engineer II / Sr. for the GPS team within Greenheck Group you will provide leadership and strong technical support to optimize factory costs, quality, and customer service through the conception, development, and implementation of new or improved manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, material flow, plant layout, or product design. Responsible for mentoring, training, indirect supervision of other team members, or may have direct reports.

What you'll be doing :

  • Coordinate and implement complex training initiatives to support manufacturing.
  • Plan, specify, and justify strategic capital expenditures, which may include Board of Director level projects.
  • Investigate, purchase, and implement tooling and equipment to support daily operations.
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership for other engineers and production team members as it relates to manufacturing processes and equipment, including new technology and processes.
  • Recognize, recommend and validate design and process changes to improve manufacturability. Implement changes with product design engineering.
  • Identify and implement improvements to material utilization, plant layouts and machinery efficiency.
  • Analyze and make recommendations using summarized data to influence key management decisions relating to budgeting, staffing, and capacity planning.
  • Lead and support safety, 5S, and Lean initiatives. Expected to complete internal Lean Leader and Lean Champion certification.
  • Manage complex team projects involving individuals from various departments to ensure integration between manufacturing, sales, finance, marketing and product engineering.
  • Support production and manufacturing to optimize quality, productivity, on-time delivery, and operational efficiencies resulting in improved customer satisfaction.
  • Support production and manufacturing quality management system and policies.
  • May maintain knowledge of new technologies that are appropriate in either product development or in manufacturing processes to improve the company's competitive position.
  • Facilitate Pitstop Report Outs; specifically corporate showcase report outs.
  • Mentor / Coach certified and potential GPS champions.
  • Assist training, certification, and coaching procedures / processes within GPS.
  • Performs and coordinates Lean operational assessments and instruct Lean classes.
  • Assists in the definition of lean projects throughout the organization.
  • Determines "best practices" and ensure that they are consistently applied throughout the organization.
  • Participates in benchmarking activities around lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Drive change throughout the organization.
  • Organize human systems to drive the continuous improvement efforts.
  • Provides direct leadership for lean activities and pit stop / quick fix events.

What you should have for the II Level :

  • 2 Year / associate degree in engineering or a related field of study or equivalent years of job experience required.
  • 4 Year / bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in engineering required.
  • CAD skills required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • General fluency in SAP is preferred.
  • Experience with Lean concepts.
  • What you should have for the Sr. Level :

  • 6-9 years of relevant work experience in engineering is required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • 2 Year / associate degree in engineering or a related field of study or equivalent years of job experience required.
  • 4 Year / bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
  • CAD skills required.
  • General fluency in SAP is preferred.
  • Strong experience with Lean concepts.
  • An advanced level of experience in plant layout is preferred.

    Greenheck Group takes pride in providing competitive pay along with a comprehensive benefits package as part of our total rewards program. The starting base pay range for this position is $99,566 - $122,994 and may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer and phone. Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Repetitive motion. Substantial motions of the wrists, hands, and / or fingers. The person is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as : preparing and analyzing data, and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. There is an occasional need for walking short distances. Work may be performed in company's setting, home, or hybrid.
