Job Title: Procurement and Contracts Specialist 

Location: Dresden, NY (Preferred) | Remote with regional expertise considered

Position Overview: 

We are looking for a Procurement and Contracts Specialist with expertise in acquiring equipment and supplies for power plants, data centers, and electrical utility projects. This role includes managing procurement processes, negotiating contracts, and ensuring high-quality products at competitive prices. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in the power, utility, or related industries and a strong understanding of electrical systems, telecommunications, and large-scale infrastructure projects. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: 

  • Negotiate contracts and prices, ensuring alignment with budget and quality standards. 
  • Build strong relationships with vendors and stay updated on purchasing technology trends. 
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and source equipment for inventory and specific project needs. 
  • Manage project sourcing, including vendor pricing, lead times, and equipment modifications. 
  • Collaborate with management to align procurement strategies with company needs. 

Contract Management & Negotiation: 

  • Secure favorable terms, payment schedules, and delivery timelines. 
  • Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and risk management strategies. 

Market Analysis & Cost Management: 

  • Conduct market research to maintain competitive pricing and availability. 
  • Analyze market trends, forecast needs, and drive cost reduction initiatives. 
  • Maintain metrics for delivery efficiency, cost control, lead time, and inventory management. 

Required Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Industry Experience: At least 6 years in power plant operations, utilities, or large-scale industrial projects. 
  • Purchasing/Procurement Experience: Proven success and experience in purchasing electrical system parts, telecom equipment, and infrastructure supplies 
  • Analytical & Negotiation Skills: Expertise in cost analysis, contract negotiation, and procurement processes. 
  • Sales & Business Development: Proven experience in sales strategy and revenue growth. 
  • (Optional) Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Technical Field, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline. 

Preferred Experience & Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of power plant operations, data centers, and electrical utility systems. 
  • Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills. 
  • Preference for candidates in Rochester or Western NY, but open to remote candidates with regional expertise.

  • Compensation: 

    The salary range for this role in New York State is $65,000 - $75,000 (negotiable) with the final offer based on experience and location.
