ROLE SUMMARY
The GL Accountant is critical to ensuring data accuracy within the general ledger accounts. You will report directly to the Controller and be responsible for the GL accounts you are assigned as well as auditing the GL accounts assigned to individuals within the department.
The Accounting Team operates in a fast-paced environment and are highly motivated in the execution of accounting functions with the utmost accuracy.
This is an exempt role.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
On a regular basis, reconcile accounts with the general ledger. Ensure that all journal entries are accurate and that transactions are reported in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (US GAAP) and government regulations. Correct any errors that are discovered.Ensure data supports budgeting and forecasting requirements and present solutions to control issues.At the end of the month or year, record information such as accrual, deferral, reclass, and interdepartmental entries into the company's accounting ledger. Perform account analysis to make sure that entries and balances are correct.With appropriate supporting documentation, prepare journal entries relating to amortization, depreciation, accruals, and a variety of other information. Ensure that entries align with generally accepted accounting principles.Complete associated annual audit and tax prep steps to ensure the external auditors have all documentation and explanations needed for their work.QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's in Accounting3-5 Years' experience in accountingHave a good understanding of accounting functionsIn-depth knowledge in the use of Microsoft ExcelAuditing Experience is a plus but not requiredSkills in balance sheet reconciliation and balance sheet account reconciliationFamiliarity with standard policies and procedures in accountingKnowledge and application of US GAAP in accounting practicesAbility to communicate effective both orally and in writingWHAT WE OFFER
