Job Description
: Responsible for updating and maintaining yield and cost system data. : Performs labor cost analysis to determine the most efficient use of labor resources. : Studies and recommends equipment, workflow, design, and ergonomic changes to the production lines and other work areas of facility for maximum efficiency. : Sets production time and yield standards. : Plans and oversees layout of equipment, office, and production spaces in all facilities. : Confers with vendors to determine product specifications for purchase of equipment, materials or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. Works closely with purchasing. : Manages engineering work and equipment supplied by outside vendors. : Plans engineering changes and layouts. : Reviews prototypes of new products and performs feasibility studies. : Recommends, plans, and initiates projects involving cost reduction, work simplification methods and standardization, material handling, plant layout and equipment justification analyses. : Collaborates with management and others regarding manufacturing capabilities, schedules, and other production issues to facilitate production processes and initiate cost reduction. : Represents manufacturing on Design Review meeting (e.g. responsible for implementing and maintaining operational procedures) : Consults with and works closely with teams regarding product design and tooling to ensure efficiency and best processes. : Transitions new products into production.
: Experience with food manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required.
: Computer proficient in MS office including Excel, Word and Power Point.
: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, team member and outside vendors. : The employee must also occasionally lift and/ or move up to 25lbs.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from operating managers and regulatory agencies. Ability to effectively present information to top management, and government officials, if required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations such as machine speeds, pounds per hour, and to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, and volume.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
