Job Description
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Generates label content in accordance with FDA/USDA regulatory requirements using Genesis/ESHA software, including nutritional data, allergen statements, ingredient listings, bar codes, common name, and applicable claims.
- Label application preparation for both KC and private label including USDA, FDA, Organic, GIG/gluten and new private label accounts including notification of any recipe or ingredient changes.
- Liaise with Sales and Culinary to create sample labels and preliminary finished product specifications as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of product formulas ingredient specifications and related governmental materials.
- Work with Corporate & Regulatory Compliance to ensure that product labeling meets applicable regulatory and industry requirements.
- Enters the technical label information into the appropriate systems, properly setting up new materials against raw material specifications into Genesis software as needed. o Implement and communicate revisions to recipes and labels with all appropriate personnel.
- Work with cross functional team (Procurement, Culinary, and Corporate & Regulatory Compliance) to ensure food policy compliance. o Remains aware of changes in rules and regulations affecting label copy and contents. Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition, Food Technology OR equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience required.
- Previous experience managing accuracy of data, data entry, and document/record management required as well as experience in generating, reviewing and approval of technical food label copy.
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve, research, analyze and source missing information. o Conversant with food label terminology and regulatory aspects of labels and claims
- Must be conscientious, accurate, detail oriented, organized and a team player
- Familiarity with FDA and USDA guidelines
- Ability to quickly learn new systems/procedures. Must know how to utilize all resources available, be willing to learn and accept changing priorities - Adept at meeting deadlines
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills
- Previous experience working with Genesis/ESHA software o Strong PC skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Moderate skill in Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
- Strong demonstrated project management skills Required attributes o Self-starter able to conceptualize and drive initiatives forward o Positive attitude and motivated by contributing to the overall success of the team

- Creative problem solving skills o Obsessive attention to detail, well organized and able to juggle many projects at once
