Position Summary
We are seeking experienced Armed Detention Officers trained in National Detention Standards to join our team for full-time and part time Detention Officer positions. We are preparing for a schedule that supports the client’s robust operations, which generally operate around the clock. Shifts will be 8 hours with some shifts being 12-hours for both AM and PM opportunities. No overtime, standard 40 hour work weeks.
As a Detention Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients and facilitating Detention Duties inside the facility as well as standard Guard duties around client sites.
Role and Responsibilities
- Responsibilities:
- Maintain a high level of alertness and awareness at all times.
- Enforce all NDS policies and procedures.
Detention Officer Skills
- Must possess a valid Texas LVL III Armed guard card
- Must possess some or all of NDS certifications
- Must be willing to perform all training requirements required to become current and recertified in NDS standards
- Must be able to stand for duration of shift.
- Must be able to lift to 25lbs.
- Basic computer skills
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent sense of judgment
- Can stay alert at all times
Preferred Qualification and Education
- 1 year previous Detention experience
- Familiar with National Detention Standards
Work authorization/security clearance requirements
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be English Fluent
- Must have valid Drivers License and means to commute
