Summary

Oversees Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and supplier quality related activities for the purchase of materials, internal fabrication and assembly, equipment and supplies as well as compliance to contracted quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises the Quality department staff, including Quality Inspectors and other Quality personnel.
  • Complies with safety rules and procedures and remains alert for unsafe conditions. Addresses unsafe conditions before putting people or property at risk.
  • Ensures that the repair station complies with the appropriate local, state, and federal requirements in concurrence with CFRs.
  • Responsible to the FAA for all PAH Operations.
  • Trains all personnel on any new, updated or required standard operating procedures.
  • Maintains revised list of effective pages of the repair station manual.
  • Assists the Manager, Quality with ensuring the repair station continues to meet the requirements for providing adequate housing, facilities, equipment, and personnel appropriate to the ratings of the repair station.
  • Assists with administering corrective action program and determines the appropriate actions to be taken when deficiencies are discovered or reported.
  • Implements and communicates the requirements and procedures of the repair station and PMA manuals.
  • Reports to management on the performance of the quality system and recommends any needs for improvement.
  • Conducts 1:1 discussion, annual performance reviews and goal setting.
  • Proactively addresses any employee relations issues to enhance morale and productivity.
  • Coaches, mentors, and trains personnel to keep the department working effectively.
  • Enforces and adheres to policies as outlined in employee handbook.
  • Provides technical guidance on questions regarding quality systems and procedures.
  • Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification

Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent with five years' relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience with demonstrated skills. Three years of previous people management experience preferred. Aerospace background and aircraft interior industry experience required. Vocational and technical schooling preferred.


Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.


Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proven experience in an AS9100 certified manufacturing environment.
  • QAM must be familiar with Federal Aviation Regulations, orders, Airworthiness Directives, and Service Bulletins applicable to the production of aviation products and articles.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Familiar with the procurement of raw materials/parts/commodities related to VIP aircraft interiors.
  • Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally.
  • Ability to communicate in English (read, write, and verbally communicate).
  • Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Experience with MS Outlook, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access); Expedite resource planning; Inventory and order processing systems.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Ability to work outside of core business hours as required.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to climb and work on step stools and/or ladders.
  • Able to lift 25 pounds without assistance/able to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Able to reach overhead.
  • Able to work in a non-dust-free environment.
  • Normal or corrected vision (required to perform exacting tasks).
  • Full range of motion with both hands.
  • Ability to work in a stooping, kneeling, or standing position and in cramped areas.

The expected WA salary range for this position is between $78,000.00 - $103,000.00 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
