Summary
Works efficiently to provide technical support in structural substantiation as directed by assigned lead engineer while gaining valuable hands-on knowledge and skills in preparation for a career in Engineering.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Creates interface loads and performs structural analysis using classical methods and finite element models.
- Accomplishes drawing pickups and corrections as directed by engineers.
- Reviews engineering drawings for accuracy and structural soundness.
- Assists with structural testing.
- Collects and manipulates data as directed by engineers.
- Collaborates and communicates with the lead engineer to keep informed of task progress.
- Provides technical and engineering support.
- Reviews and gains comprehension of engineering drawings.
- Prepares presentations in PowerPoint.
- Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.
- Prepares a presentation at the end of the internship to demonstrate what knowledge and skills have been gained.
- Other duties as assigned.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification
Pursuit of or fulfillment of a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in engineering or related discipline from a four-year college or university.
Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company / foreign government / foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
The pay rate for this position is $25 / hr.
