Brief Description:
A Manufacturing Mechanical Process Engineer with GreenPower Motor Company is responsible for the development and modification of vehicle components from concept to production. The Manufacturing Mechanical Process Engineer will have mechanical design responsibilities and provide engineering to a full suite of medium to heavy duty EV vehicles. This position requires a high level creative thinking, conceptualization, implementation skills and ability to thrive in a fast pace environment.
- Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of BOM, process flow, working instructions, production related drawings, tooling selection & design.
- Conduct process review on product design drawings to ensure that product design meets production requirements.
- Responsible for conducting root-cause analysis, propposing product improvement plans and working cross-functionally to help resolve and production related issues, such as supplier quality issues (I(QC), design-related issues, any assembly-related issues or any production complaints that occurred during the manufacturing process.
- Responsible for the maintenance of product quality.
- Responsible for formulating production working hours, formulating production plans according to working hours and procurement cycle, and controlling production costs.
- Train, guide and supervise production according to the production drawings, working instructions, process flow and any related documents.
- Responsible for supporting any after-sales service and addressing customer complaints.
- Assist in evaluating new suppliers, and introducing and transforming new technologies to the production line.
- Responsible for the confirmation and follow-up of the trial assembly and test results of new suppliers parts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, etc.
- A thorough understanding of technical concepts of federal safety standards and laws.
- More than 2 years of relevant work experience in electrical vehicle assembly (Best experience with E-truck or E-bus), and technical documents management, such as BOM, SOP, Process flow design, working station setup, Quality Control Document, PFMEA.
- Familiar with basic mechanical product knowledge of vehicles, such as braking, steering, suspension, cooling systems.
- Familiar with GD&T, mechanical fixture design and tooling management.
- Proficiency in English, Mandarin Chinese preferred.
- Be able to travel 10% domestic and 10% international.
- Be able to handle oversee meetings and oversea suppliers.
Physical Requirements:
Considerable physical activity with prolonged periods of sitting and computer work. May require handling of objects that can weigh up to 25 pounds.
Working Environment:
Work is normally performed in an office work environment. Other environments may include:
