Job Summary
We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing and recording journal entries, account reconciliations, detailed reports, and ensuring strict adherence to accounting principles and company policies. Join a dynamic team that will also assist with month end close, audits and special projects.
Duties & Functions
- Assist with completing a timely month-end close
- Maintain/reconcile assigned general ledger accounts
- Preparing monthly journal entries
- Creating the month-end workbooks of financials and reconciliations
- Assisting the Accounts Payable team, reviewing accounts payable postings for accuracy and assisting with vendor reconciliations as necessary
- Preparing Budget/Prior period to Actual variance analysis
- Preparing analysis to ensure accuracy of financial statements
- Preparing and filing sales tax returns
- Assist with cashflow forecasting
- Preparing documentation for external auditors
- Handling accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliations
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
- Ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications & Standards
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required or at least three years’ experience with two in public accounting
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to remain flexible and adaptive to changing priorities
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Excel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to read and analyze financial reports
- NetSuite experience a plus
