What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Server/Cashier position at Greens & Grains?
Job responsibilities include preparing and serving specialty made salads, sandwiches, and to-go food for customers. Operates cash register to accept payment for to-go food services. Maintains a cleanly workspace and ensures freshness of food served to customers.
General Accountabilities:
Customer Services
- Greets customer in a pleasant manner.
- Describes menu items, and preparation descriptions to customers or suggests food items that might appeal to them.
- Takes phone orders and assembles orders for customer pick-up.
- Assembles on-line orders for customer pick-up.
- Assist customers by providing information and resolving their complaints.
Food Preparation
- Prepares and serves specialty made salads.
- Ensures freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock.
- May be required to chop and prep salad or to-go food items.
- Inspects and cleans food preparation areas or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
Cashier
- Receives cash/credit cards and processes customer payments.
- Issues receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers.
- Maintains clean and orderly checkout area.
Stocking & Cleaning
- Stocks food service stations with to-go paper products, serving containers and utensils.
- Checks temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, and heating equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Cleans and sanitizes work areas, utensils, equipment, and service areas.
Minimum Job Qualifications
- Minimum of few months to one year of food service or customer service experience
- Must have acceptable verbal English language communication skills.
- Must have basic math skills.
- Requires ability to lift 5-25 pounds.
- Requires Food Handlers Certificate, which may be obtained prior to start date.
