EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and LICENSING REQUIREMENTS :
High school diploma / GED required (Associate degree preferred)
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Training / Certificate
1 years' experience in medical assisting or administration.
Previous experience with Microsoft Office software required.
Familiarity with Athena One a plus.
Experience with administration of EMR a plus.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
Serves patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.
Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, and answering or referring inquiries.
Provides patients with intake and new patient forms as well as copies of our office policies and legally required documents.
Coordinates and tracks referrals and imaging.
Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
Maintains business office inventory, supplies and equipment on regular basis.
Performs typing, mailing, faxing, scanning or photocopying various correspondence or materials.
Assembles and distributes a variety of documents, manuals and materials.
Coordinates yearly vaccination schedule and on-site Mammogram screening.
Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Experience using medical equipment to take vital signs, obtain blood samples, perform drug testing and other laboratory functions.
Perform patient rooming and input all information into EMR.
Sets up room for Physician.
Restock examination rooms.
Provide assistance to CMA and Physician as needed.
Inputs lab orders.
Works with pharmacy to distribute patient medications.
Other duties as assigned.
