JOB SUMMARY:
The Department of Sociology & Criminal Justice at Greensboro College invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Sociology faculty position to begin August 2025. Teaching responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Research Methods
Sociological Imagination
Migration and Society
Social Theory
Families in Society
Race, Class & Gender
Human Services
Capstone
The final teaching assignments will be based on the candidate's academic strengths and previous teaching experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Department of Sociology & Criminal Justice offers an undergraduate major in Sociology, with Concentrations in Culture and Diversity, or Human Services, and a minor in Sociology. The Department also supports majors in Criminal Justice and Human Development and Family Studies, as well as minors in Criminal Justice; African American Studies; and Sexuality, Gender, and Identity Studies. The Department of Sociology & Criminal Justice offers a traditional on-campus program, as well as an online degree in Criminal Justice.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Earned doctorate in Sociology (ABD candidates will be considered provided the degree is successfully completed prior to start date).
- Qualified candidates need to have evidence of successful teaching experience and research experience.
