Position: Event Sales Manager
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Event Sales Manager to join our leadership team. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this role plays a pivotal part in delivering exceptional member experiences across our two campuses-Irving Park and The Farm. Key Strengths & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of service techniques and event execution
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and efficient in time management
- Creative problem-solver with a keen eye for detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Point of Sale systems
- Northstar events planning software knowledge preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in food and beverage event planning or catering operations
- Bachelor's degree preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Event Sales & Planning
- Book, plan, and oversee the execution of banquets, weddings, corporate meetings, and social events
- Develop room layouts, event orders, and customized plans for each function
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to design menus, set pricing, and coordinate event logistics
- Manage contracts, deposits, and financial documentation for non-member events
- Event Execution & Coordination
- Oversee event set-up and ensure seamless execution
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and members during events
- Work closely with the Communications Director to promote club events
- Partner with the Food & Beverage Management Team to ensure flawless service delivery
- Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Prepare and track monthly sales forecasts and budgets in collaboration with the CFO
- Maintain accurate records of all booked functions and financial performance
- Provide P&L statements for individual events as needed
- Member & Guest Experience
- Be a visible and engaged presence at holiday celebrations and club-sponsored events
- Oversee room aesthetics, decorations, and event ambiance
- Ensure exceptional service standards that enhance the club's reputation
Collaboration & Team Leadership
The Event Sales Manager plays a critical leadership role, not only in coordinating events but also in developing and mentoring a high-performing team. This position has two direct reports:
- Event Sales Assistant
- Event Coordinator
Leadership & Development Expectations
As a leader, the Event Sales Manager is responsible for:
- Guiding and mentoring direct reports to develop their skills in sales, planning, and execution.
- Setting clear performance expectations and providing regular feedback to ensure high standards are met.
- Fostering a collaborative and positive work environment, encouraging creativity and problem-solving.
- Providing training and professional development opportunities to enhance team capabilities and career growth.
- Leading by example in client relations, service excellence, and event execution to uphold the club's reputation.
- Conducting regular check-ins and performance reviews to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

- Food & Beverage Manager

- Food & Beverage Management Team
- CFO & Accounting Team
- Other department heads (Membership, Youth Programs, Aquatics, etc.)
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and performing occasional bending, kneeling, and crouching
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-energy setting requiring continuous multitasking
