Job Summary: The Summer Camp Counselor is responsible for providing a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children attending summer camp. The counselor will lead and supervise a group of campers, facilitate activities, and be a positive role model. This role requires active participation in all camp activities, including outdoor adventures, arts and crafts, sports, and team-building exercises. This is a seasonal job beginning on May 12, 2025, and runs through August. Monday - Friday availability required.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Supervision & Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers under your supervision. Maintain a safe environment by following all camp policies and procedures, including emergency protocols. - Activity Facilitation: Lead and organize various camp activities such as arts and crafts, swimming, group games. Adapt activities to different age groups and camper abilities - Positive Role Model: Serve as a role model for campers by demonstrating appropriate behavior, including respect, teamwork, and responsibility - Group Management: Supervise and manage a group of campers, ensuring that they follow camp rules and participate in activities. Address behavioral concerns in a positive and constructive manner. - Communication with Parents/Guardians: Provide updates to parents on their child's camp experience, as necessary. Respond to inquiries promptly and professionally. - Team Collaboration: Work closely with fellow counselors and camp staff to ensure smooth operations. Assist with camp-wide activities and contribute to team initiatives. - First Aid and Emergency Response: Be trained and prepared to respond to medical emergencies and incidents. Administer first aid and follow emergency procedures when needed. - Camp Cleanliness and Maintenance: Assist with upkeep and cleanliness of camp facilities and equipment. Ensure camp areas are ready for activities each day.

Ability to manage challenging situations with patience. - Availability: Available to work up to 8-hour shifts Monday - Friday.
Minimum Qualifications: - Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certification - Experience: At least 1-year previous experience working with children in a camp, daycare, educational, or recreational setting preferred - Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 25lbs and participate actively in indoor and outdoor activities.
