Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including examinations, diagnosis, and treatment of various ocular conditions. The Optometrist will work closely with patients to ensure their vision needs are met while maintaining a high standard of patient care and customer service. Positions available from 1 to 5 days per week. Generous pay per exam. Busy well equipped office with electronic Topcon refractors and Topcon Maestro OCT.
Duties
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and other visual aids as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide patient education on eye health, vision correction options, and preventive care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Monitor and evaluate patients’ progress during follow-up visits.
- Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies.
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid Indiana license to practice optometry.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and systems related to the eyes.
- Experience with pediatrics is a plus, as well as familiarity with medical records management.
- Proficient in taking vital signs and performing basic diagnostic tests.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills to explain complex information clearly to patients.
