This role requires a healthcare professional to provide evaluation services to Veterans on a part-time, as-needed basis.

About the Role

• The ideal candidate will have experience in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or general medicine with a focus on compensation and pension.
• They will be able to perform exams at a VES leased facility or within their own practice, working flexible hours (4-hour days or 8-hour days).
• Exams are primarily interview-based with some physical assessment, including range of motion testing and muscle strength testing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct evaluations to determine disability benefits for Veterans
2. Complete standardized forms and Reporting/Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) within 48 hours of exam completion
3. Submit records and follow up with administrative work, including medical opinions and reading diagnostics

Requirements

• DMA certification available for CME credits
• Familiarity with Musculoskeletal, Diabetes, and Cardio conditions required
• Proficient in METs testing, evaluating and diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions
• Use of Goniometer required
• Own personal laptop (PC only)

• Provider's own office locations: Juneau or Sitka, Delta Junction
