About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Patient-Centered Mental Health Physician to join our team. As a key member of our psychiatric care services, you will be responsible for providing exceptional medical care and support to patients aged 6 and above.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans for patients with complex mental health needs.
- Provide comprehensive assessments and diagnosis, as well as evidence-based treatments for anxiety disorders, affective disorders, ADHD, personality disorders, eating disorders, developmental disorders, psychotic disorders, and organic disorders.
- Work closely with psychologists, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and effective patient outcomes.
- Familiarity with documentation systems such as Cerner is essential for accurate and timely recording of patient information.
Requirements
- Board Certification in Psychiatry (BE not accepted)
- Experience in treating patients aged 6 and above is preferred
- No telehealth experience required
- Average number of patients per day: 5-12
- Total number of beds: 18 adults, 5 adolescents
- Support from 2 advanced practice providers
- Documentation system: Cerner
- Trauma level/designation: III
- Referral/transfer protocol: University of Iowa
- Safety/security measures: security on each campus
