Assistant Controller – Finance/Accounting

Position Summary:  The Assisting Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company.   Reconcile and Audit weekly/monthly the finance and accounting department roles AP/AR primarily and providing software training and information, primarily financial in nature, involving all financial company activities that will assist CFO managers and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company's future.

Essential Functions:

• Reconcile the activities of the corporate accounting departments for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and monthly external financial statements and annual audits and annual budgets
• Proficient with Excel software and technology

• Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk
• Overseas the production of periodic financial reports ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards 
• Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance
• Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management
• Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
• Works with external auditors and provides the information needed for the annual audit
• Files quarterly and annual reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned

• Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, and enhance the company's value
• Respond to CFO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate his financial needs

 Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required

• Ten years or more of related experience preferred
• Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred

Physical Demands:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
