CDL Delivery Driver

Job Description

SUMMARY:

Delivery driver's responsibilities include but are not limited to; making local-area deliveries and pick-ups to/from customers and suppliers, completing job duties by preparing, loading, unloading, operating and cleaning a truck; maintaining records; and helping to develop sales.

REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Legally operate a motor vehicle and maintain a driving record that meets company standards.
• Load all order fulfillment materials onto a truck for delivery and unload at delivery.
• Deliver/pick up merchandise to/from customers and suppliers promptly, efficiently, and in a professional manner.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance on company vehicles.
• Communicate any vehicle mechanical problems to direct supervisor.
  
  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• CDL Class B Certification
• Must be a self-starter who can manage a heavy volume of work and be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
• Proficient with vehicle monitoring software.
• Forklift certification.
• Forklift experience: 1 year.
• Proficient with vehicle routing software.
• Hazmat Endorsement.
  
  

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Warehouse environment and outdoor conditions including sometimes extreme hot/cold temperatures. Deliveries in all weather conditions including during extreme hot/cold, rain, and other seasonal conditions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NO

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Legally operate a motor vehicle and maintain company fleet to meet DOT standards.
• Load all order fulfillment materials onto truck for delivery and unload at destination.
• Deliver, pick up and inspect merchandise to & from designated address promptly, efficiently, and in a professional manner.
• Ability to perform daily DOT inspection, cleanliness inspection and maintenance on company vehicles while ensuring employee completion.
• Communicate and schedule any vehicle maintenance in conjunction with Logistics Coordinator.
• Demonstrate ability to provide an elevated level of customer service.
• On-going education of current and upcoming DOT laws & regulations.
• Develop and nurture relationships with CMV leasing representative, vehicle mechanics and operations team.
