Purpose
Provides nursing care, utilizing the nursing process to residents of GreenTree. Maintains a positive environment that promotes resident independence. Nurtures, sustains, and protects each resident by providing the services needed to live a full life.
Education & Experience
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Knowledgeable of the nursing process and its application, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Michigan.
- Basic Life Support certification needed but may be obtained after hire.
Specific Requirements
- Ensures the delivery of excellent resident service and care.
- Encourages each resident to reach his / her maximum functional ability then helps maintain these abilities.
- Facilitates collaboration between all heath care team members.
- Monitors the activities of daily living services provided to ensure they meet the resident’s physical, emotional, intellectual, psychological, spiritual, and cultural needs.
- Assists with the assessment, planning, implementation of resident services in accordance with established standards of care, utilizing interpersonal, critical thinking, and technical skills.
- Provides nursing procedures according to established policy, procedures, and standards of care.
- Provides accurate documentation of services rendered.
- Delegates care activities to appropriately qualified staff.
- Committed to the development of the staff, residents, and families as collaborative team members. Teamwork is a prime responsibility of each individual.
- Accesses, inputs, and retrieves information from the computer system.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, performance improvement program standards, resident safety, environment of care, management of information, and infection control standards.
- Complies with federal and state laws including accrediting and licensing agents at all times to include, but not limited to OBRA, OSHA, and federal compliance regulations.
- Ensures that a clean, safe, and sanitary environment exists in the home for the resident.
