Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Irrigation Technician Install Foreman to oversee landscaping projects and ensure the successful execution of various tasks. The ideal candidate is responsible for leading a crew of workers in the installation of irrigation systems on a variety of sites including but not limited to Commercial, Agriculture, Residential, Retail, and Municipal, overseeing all aspects of the project from site preparation to system activation, ensuring quality workmanship, adherence to project plans, and safety protocols while managing the crew's productivity and efficiency on the job site.

This position requires a valid NC driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Duties

• Lead and manage a team of irrigation installers, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing on-the-job training to ensure proper installation techniques.
• Review project blueprints and specifications, calculate material needs, and create installation plans to efficiently complete the project within deadlines.
• Oversee the preparation of the installation site, including grading, trenching, and laying of pipes according to design specifications.
• Direct the installation of all irrigation components like pipes, sprinklers, valves, controllers, and pumps, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
• Regularly inspect work in progress to identify and address any quality issues, ensuring the irrigation system meets industry standards.
• Enforce all safety regulations on the job site, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of machinery.
• Manage inventory of irrigation materials, ensuring proper usage and ordering of supplies to avoid delays.
• Maintain open communication with clients and project managers, addressing concerns, and providing updates on project progress.
• Diagnose and resolve any installation issues that arise during the project.
• Maintain detailed records of installation activities, including daily reports, equipment maintenance, and as-built drawings.
• Comprehensive understanding of irrigation systems, including different sprinkler types, pipe sizes, and control systems.
• Proven ability to effectively lead and motivate a crew to achieve project goals.
• Capability to troubleshoot installation issues and find solutions to unexpected challenges.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks like lifting heavy materials and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with clients, crew members, and project managers.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as an irrigation installer or technician in a fast-paced setting. (2 years)
• Supervisory experience leading a crew in outdoor construction projects.
• Knowledge of power tools and hand tools used in irrigation work
• Ability to dig trenches, build irrigation manifolds, and install pipes and fitting
• Familiarity with programming and troubleshooting irrigation controllers
• Strong attention to detail to identify issues with the irrigation system
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Good communication skills to collaborate with clients and colleagues
