Position Title: Food Runner
Reports to: A la Carte Food & Beverage Manager
Supervises: N/A
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-exempt
Job Summary
The Food Runner ensures prompt and polite service to members and guests, acting as a liaison between the kitchen and servers. Responsibilities include delivering food to tables, maintaining service stations, assisting with banquet setups, and upholding GCC’s standards of hospitality and efficiency.
Essential Duties include, but are not limited to:
Trust and Teamwork
- Assists servers in delivering excellent dining experiences
- Works collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house team to ensure smooth operations
- Reports member complaints to the manager on duty promptly
Effective Communication:
- Matches food items accurately to the correct orders
- Labels and assembles “to-go” orders correctly
- Verifies banquet setups according to Banquet Event Order (BEO) specifications
Innovation:
- Inspects equipment for cleanliness, defects, or maintenance needs, reporting any issues to the manager on duty
- Assists in setting up and breaking down service stations efficiently
- Arranges lighting, props, floral décor, and other banquet elements per BEO specifications
Balance and Appreciation:
- Maintains cleanliness in service stations and ensures a clutter-free and safe workplace
- Assists Server Assistants with clearing tables, refilling water glasses, and setting up the dining area
- Greet members with warmth and professionalism, making them feel valued and appreciated
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant setting, preferred but not required

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, including climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, stretching, and reaching
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
