Job Summary
The Host is the first point of contact for members and guests, providing a warm welcome and ensuring a seamless dining experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to coordinate seating and guest flow efficiently. The Host plays a vital role in upholding Greenville Country Club’s commitment to hospitality and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Essential Duties include, but are not limited to:
Trust and Teamwork
- Work collaboratively with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth operations and an exceptional dining experience
- Communicate effectively to coordinate seating, special requests, and to-go orders
- Maintain professionalism and reliability to foster trust among team members and guests
Effective Communication:
- Manage seating and waitlists using the club’s point of sale system, providing accurate wait times and updates to guests
- Communicate seating plans and special requests, and order details with the front of house team clearly and efficiently
- Take and process to-go orders accurately, ensuring proper packaging and timely pick-up
Innovation:
- Adapt to changing member needs and service demands with creative problem-solving
- Utilize technology and club systems to streamline host operations and order management
- Provide feedback to management on ways to improve front of house operations and member satisfaction
Balance and Appreciation:
- Greet members with warmth and professionalism, making them feel valued and appreciated
- Assist in balancing dining room flow by managing seating and to-go orders by maintaining a balanced workload
- Recognize and accommodate member preferences and special occasions, enhancing their experience
Education and/or Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant setting, preferred

- Passion for delivering exceptional hospitality
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of club events, menu offerings, and policies to provide accurate information to members

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
