Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency calls in a timely manner, with the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Quickly and effectively assess patients to determine the extent of the illness or injury and establish priority treatment
- Administer first aid and treatment to sick or injured people
- Collect vital information from patients, and safely convey that message to hospitals or treatment facilities
- Communicate with hospitals, treatment centers, and other EMTs effectively to convey treatment needs after patients leave your care
- Maintain an inventory of medical supplies on your response vehicle, and resupply as needed
- Continue to attend training sessions to maintain certification and keep up to date with new medical knowledge
- NYS EMT certification required, as per state guidelines
- The ability to act quickly in emergency situations

- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
