Greenville University is seeking an innovative scholar to continue building our signature agribusiness program in the Briner School of Business as a full-time tenure-track assistant or associate professor in Agribusiness and Economics. This position begins in August 2025. The successful candidate will provide an experiential learning environment that is innovative and relevant. The selected candidate must provide evidence of a vibrant Christian faith, clearly understand and internalize the mission of Greenville University, and articulate the value of Christian higher education.
The Briner School of Business has built an academically competitive program in a private liberal arts college that prepares graduates to be fluent in the language of agriculture, hone critical thinking and analytic skills, and communicate effectively about opportunities that are discovered. The School of Business is seeking applicants with experience in agricultural markets and marketing, finance and capital budgeting, supply and demand analysis, international trade, or agricultural and food policy, that complement a primary interest in agribusiness and economics.
IDEAL QUALITIES: demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, student support, university service, and scholarly activity, ability to integrate technology and experiential learning into coursework, versatile and willing to serve as an integral part of a diversified and active team of business faculty.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Deliver high-quality undergraduate instruction to on campus and online students in the Agricultural Business program with an emphasis on experiential education. This unique degree program has distilled out the best of more traditional public agribusiness programs into a hybrid curriculum that cultivates the agriculturally specific knowledge with more traditional business school curricula. Course topics include, but are not limited to, Introduction to Agribusiness, Agricultural Marketing, Farm Production Planning, (applied production system math), and Capital Management in Agribusiness, Micro and Macroeconomics, Finance, and/or other Agriculture Business courses suited to qualifications, expertise, and programmatic needs.
- Teach 12-13 credit per fall and spring semesters, including courses in agribusiness, economics and business management.
- Serve as agribusiness program director.
- Contribute to further develop current and future programs.
- Operate computer technologies relevant to the discipline to cover face to face, hybrid, and on-line course formats.
- Supervise and advise students.
- Perform University service including committee work as assigned.
- Engage in department and campus service activities.
- Participate in professional development including grant writing and research activities.
- Collaborate with private and governmental entities to develop agribusiness program. Expand network with industry to enhance our program and benefit of the students in both learning and future employment.
- Assist with recruiting and marketing activities to build student awareness of the new agribusiness major, as well as and student retention efforts.
- Commit to the development and execution of experiential learning opportunities.
- Teaching skills and practical experience in the related course material is expected.
- Must be well organized and able to present material using a variety of methods in the online environment.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to relate complex concepts to diverse audiences, and demonstrated cultural competency.
- Clearly understand and internalize the mission of Greenville University, and the value of Christian higher education.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Earned doctorate in Agricultural Economics or closely related field
Experience: Knowledge of U.S. and International Ag production systems; teaching experience at the university level

Salary Range: $48,700-$58,000/ Annually. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions and department budget.
