Description
An enrollment advisor is responsible for ensuring that students receive high-quality, personalized support to help them achieve their academic, personal, and career goals from admission to graduation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ability to develop relationships with students and leaders of ethnically underrepresented backgrounds through culturally responsive and informed conversations and outreach events.
- Manages a set of students for the purposes of moving them through the admissions process all the way through graduation.
- Implement academic degree plans that enhance student retention, persistence, and success.
- Use data and technology (e.g. advising software, academic tracking systems) to monitor student progress and advising effectiveness.
- Be involved in critical campus events in the admissions and advising process, including orientation, new student advising, and ongoing academic advising services.
- Develop proactive advising strategies to identify and support at-risk students.
- Collaborate with faculty and other student services departments to ensure a holistic approach to student success.
- Ensure advising services are compliant with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and best practices in higher education advising.
- Stay current with trends, issues, and research in academic advising and student development.
- Utilize CRM (Slate) and SIS (Jenzabar) to carry out strategic initiatives, analyze reports, and manage personal recruitment and retention efforts.
- Travel to target areas and participate in new student recruitment events (high school visits, churches, and college fairs).
- Support recruitment efforts, including campus tours and on- and off-campus events as needed, to ensure guests have a positive experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience in Christian higher education and professional experience in an enrollment management model, a plus
- An understanding of how to responsibly utilize social media in a work environment.
- Self-motivated.
- Ability to manage time well on a varying work schedule.
- Clean Driving Record.
- Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication, effective public speaking skills. Interpersonal and team development skills for effective staff leadership and management; exceptional human relational skills.
- Excellent proactive planning, organizational and project management skills. Effective resource management.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- A maturing and contagious Christian faith. Knowledge of, ability to articulate, and willingness to actively support the Christian mission of the University and accept the life-style standards of Greenville University.
Salary Band: $29,250-$88,000/ Annually. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions and department budget.
