Position available for person to perform skilled work in the maintenance and removal of trees and limbs from electrical power lines, streetlights and other facilities.

TREE TRIMMER I

Salary Range: $38,188.80 - $59,176.00

Anticipated Starting Salary: $38,188.80 - $48,692.80 - commensurate with skills and level of experience.

Qualifications:

• Up to one year of experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Removes fallen branches and trees from power lines.
• Assists in the performance of tree removal, pruning and trimming tasks.
• Operate chipping machine to chip limbs, power saws and hand tools.
• Sets up traffic control in city and rural environments to comply with DOT standards.
• Work is characterized by the necessity for using safety measures and precautions from hazards such as energized power lines, fallings limbs and trees.
• Performs other duties as required.

TREE TRIMMER II

Position available for person to perform skilled work in the maintenance and removal of trees and limbs as part of a tree trimming crew.

Salary Range: $45,468.80 - $70,491.20

Anticipated Starting Salary: $45,468.80 - $57,990.40 - commensurate with skills and level of experience.

Qualifications:

• Over one year of experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assists in the performance of tree removal, pruning and trimming tasks.
• Operate chipping machine to chip limbs, power saws and hand tools.
• Sets up traffic control in city and rural environments to comply with DOT standards.
• Work is characterized by the necessity for using safety measures and precautions from hazards such as energized power lines, fallings limbs and trees.
• Assists in the training of tree trimmers.
• Sets up traffic control in city and rural work zones to comply with NCDOT MUTCD guidelines in the absence of the Tree Trimmer Crew Leader.
• Performs other duties as required.

Normal work schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

This is a DOT-regulated position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing per DOT guidelines.

Employment is contingent upon passing a physical examination including a drug/alcohol screening and a comprehensive background check.
