Pay: $35-$38/hr.

We are seeking an experienced, successful, and engaged Compliance Reporting Analyst to join our team. This position is expected to work out of our office at 224 Airport Pkwy in San Jose and limited job-related travel may be required.
Position Summary:
GreenWaste is seeking to fill the position of Compliance Reporting Analyst to provide support to one or more facilities, and focusing on one or more contracts. This role’s main functions include handling data of incoming and outgoing customers and materials to ensure compliance with regulatory reporting and record keeping requirements and assist internal departments with procedural implementation of various operational and regulatory compliance efforts.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Compliance Reporting
- Maintain a database of customers and materials
- Report material handling and processing activity to various regulatory agencies, and to contracted city or county consultants
- Liaising with the representatives of contracted cities or counties in respect of all ad hoc queries and reviews
- Assist various internal departments with various implementation and reporting requirements
- Ensuring compliance with all the requirements of collection contracts from a reporting and financial perspective
- Assist with other requests as needed
Secondary Responsibilities: Financial Planning and Analysis
- Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and capital expenditures
- Monitor key performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance
- Maintain monthly and long-term corporate cash forecast
- Prepare presentation materials for the Senior Management Team and Board of Directors
- Assist with the update of financial models and developing new functionality where required under the supervision of the FP&A team
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work well with other employees in a team environment and communicate to ensure proper implementation of procedures.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and quickly implement remedial action regarding databases of customers and materials.
- Detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, capable of conducting thorough self-reviews and identifying variances within large and complex data sets.
- Ability to implement new procedures around ongoing regulatory evolution.
- Ability to research and implement resources and tools to create unique solutions for challenges faced.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, utilize time management skills and meet deadlines consistently.
- Assist with other requests as needed.
- Assist with various office and administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency with MS Excel, an Excel test will be provided
- The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years’ experience in small to medium-sized company
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work with a high sense of urgency while maintaining outstanding attention to detail
- Knowledge of Power BI and SQL is a plus
- Knowledge of the waste management or utilities industry is a plus
Language Skill:
- Proficiency in English and/or Spanish
- Ability to describe items in both a technical and layman manner
Physical Demands:
- Work on a computer for extended periods of time.
Work Environment:
Typical work week is Monday through Friday. Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Ability to work in setting with frequent changes in equipment, start/end time based on the operational needs for the day and or week.
This role will be based out of GreenWaste’s San Jose office, however, responsibilities may focus on Marina, Watsonville and/or other Operations
Compensation and Benefits:
Financial compensation will be commensurate with applicable experience. GreenWaste offers paid sick time.
