We are seeking an experienced, successful, and engaged Environmental Outreach Coordinator : Operations Technician to join our team. This position is expected to work out of our office at 2765 Lafayette St. in Santa Clara and limited job-related travel may be required.
Position Summary :
GreenWaste of Palo Alto is currently seeking highly motivated, professional, self-directed, and enthusiastic candidates to fill the Environmental Outreach Coordinator (EOC) Operations Technician position. Candidates should have experience implementing public outreach and education programs, and possess a strong desire to expand waste prevention, reuse, and recycling programs. The Operations Technician will constantly strive to increase waste diversion across the commercial sector, as well as work to reduce recycling contamination across the community.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
As a member of the Environmental Outreach team, contribute to the following efforts :
- Identify the waste disposal and recycling needs of commercial businesses, multi-family complexes.
- Conduct waste audits.
- Conduct in-person waste sorting training with businesses and residents.
- Provide all customers with appropriate educational information necessary to make informed, environmentally forward decisions relative to waste reduction, reuse, and recycling activities.
- Report progress, challenges, and successes, including daily logs.
- Respond to customer needs immediately and completely.
- Help plan recycling and waste disposal needs for special events and large venues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment :
The typical work week is a Monday through Friday daytime schedule. Some early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required. Job-related travel is required, and a company vehicle will be provided.
