We are seeking an experienced, successful, and engaged Site Manager to join our team. This position is expected to work out of our facility at 675 Los Esteros Rd. and/or 705 Los Esteros Road in San Jose and limited job-related travel may be required.
Position Summary:
GreenWaste is seeking to fill the position of Site Manager to provide support to one or more facilities. This role’s main function is to assist in oversight of day-to-day operations and to maintain the processing equipment optimally with minimal down time.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and Oversee facility personnel and operations.
- Distribute Daily Workload to teams.
- Coordinate sub-hauler/vendor logistics.
- Perform inspections on facility machinery, including heavy equipment and plants.
- Conduct Safety / Operational meetings as needed with teams.
- Operate Heavy Machinery as needed.
- Complete onsite projects and other requests as needed.
- Manage timecards for facility personnel.
- Assist Operations Manager as needed with employee onboarding and training, talent development, and disciplinary actions in partnership with Human Resources
- Ability to inspect, diagnose mechanical issues on plant machinery and equipment and guide team for repairs.
- Create a collaborative work environment & build and develop talent to promote career advancement.
- Promote a culture strong in safety and collaboration among teams.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Follow Company Procedures.
- Perform other duties as required to support operational success.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Utilize communication and labor relations skills to effectively oversee operations and employees.
- Understands mechanical concepts of heavy machinery (Loaders/Excavators, Industrial Shredders, Screens, etc…) or have the ability to learn.
- The ability to work as a team and work well with others.
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in solid waste, recycling, logistics, production or similar field.
- 2 years of Supervisory experience is preferred.
Language Skill:
- Proficiency in English and Spanish
Physical Demands:
- Requires the ability to handle material weighing 50 lbs.
- Requires pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, and crawling.
- Requires going up and down stairs to reach certain equipment locations
- The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, stand, climb, balance, reach, stoop, or kneel
Work Environment:
Typical work week is Monday through Friday. Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Ability to work in setting with frequent changes in equipment, start/end time, service city/town and routes based on the operational needs for the day and or week.
