What are the responsibilities and job description for the Load Checker position at GreenWaste Recovery?
Position Summary:
GreenWaste is seeking to fill the position of Load Checker to provide support to one or more facilities. This position is responsible for, but not limited to inspecting directing customers to tipping locations, inspecting all incoming loads for unacceptable and prohibited wastes, maintaining good customer service and communication with operations personnel (i.e., operators and scale house staff).
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Control traffic on tipping pad.
Inspect all incoming loads for prohibited wastes.
Perform two random load checks per day (maintain load check binder).
Monitor for putrescible wastes once a month.
Segregate hazardous materials, electronic wastes, tires, carpet, appliances, etc. and place in appropriate locations.
Coordinate with operations staff to keep operations area clean and organized (safe).
Communicate with scale house staff regarding any extra commodity or prohibited waste.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to follow directions, daily procedures, and protocols.
Ability to distinguish between commodities.
Ability to work as a team and work well with others.
Must be able to read and write.
Language Skill:
Proficiency in English and Spanish (both preferred)
Physical Demands:
Ability to physically push, pull and lift objects up to 50 lbs.
Constant bending and twisting,
Frequent standing, walking and semi-frequent sitting.
Work Environment:
Typical work week is Monday through Friday with weekend work. Will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. Ability to work in setting with frequent changes in equipment and start/end time based on the operational needs for the day and or week.
Salary : $46,400 - $51,600
