In this role, the System Administrator will be a member of our IT organization supporting a semiconductor company’s processes by making sure that the IT infrastructure and systems stay up and running for internal staff in the US and India locations. You will provide on-premise support to cross-functional teams that use Windows and Linux operating environments, with expertise in setting up and managing Linux, Microsoft Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Management, SharePoint, and Exchange services.
The ideal candidate should be customer service oriented, attentive to detail, self-motivated and work well in teams. Flexibility in approach to finding solutions, the ability to understand and act on the customer needs and priorities, and learn new technologies quickly are some of the other qualities a successful candidate must have. You may also need to be willing to respond to occasional off-hours outages and take part in subsequent service restoration efforts.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide IT operations support that includes resolving help desk issues, monitoring system health and data security and reliability/backup, monitoring LAN/WAN connectivity, on-boarding new hires, etc.
- Participate in new IT projects including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services (e.g., modernization, data center expansion/migration, ERP systems, etc)
- Develop, socialize, deploy and monitor key IT metrics and use for optimizing operations
- Partner across the organization to define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture and processes to support all company functions
- Work closely with management to define and maintain corporate IT policy, administrative regulations, and legal requirements that relate to technology usage, purchase of equipment, security of data, privacy, etc.
- Work with service vendors or equipment/product technical support to identify and solve problems of network hardware and software issues
- Support user training and communication (onboarding, FAQs, How-To’s, new system training, etc)
- BS or MS degree in computer science, information systems or related field
- Over 4 years of relevant IT experience in a similar role
- Excellent working knowledge of Windows and/or Linux computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems
- Good understanding of network architecture and client/server technology
- Strong working knowledge and extensive experience in Windows and Linux server administration
- Knowledge of key software and hardware vendors for productivity tools, anti-virus, VPN, collaborative workspaces, software revision control systems, firewalls, servers etc.
- Excellent organizational and cross-functional skills
- Analytical and disciplined problem solver
- Team player with a strong sense of urgency to meet needs on time
- Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Semiconductor industry experience specifically supporting EDA/CAD tool users
- Microsoft Azure
- Experience with VMWare ESX
- Experience with Netapp Ontap
