Salary : Position Overview :
As a Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for the intake, cleaning, basic troubleshooting, and repair of downhole wireline tools, including their electronic components. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical and basic electronics skills, or a strong aptitude and desire to learn.
Key Responsibilities :
- Tool Intake and Cleaning :
Receive tools sent in for repair and complete the intake process.
Clean tools thoroughly to prepare them for inspection and repair.Initial Diagnostics :Perform basic tests and checks to confirm customer-reported issues, including electronic diagnostics.
Identify visible signs of wear, damage, or malfunction in both mechanical and electronic components.Tool Disassembly and Repair :Assist in disassembling tools to inspect and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic systems.
Replace or repair faulty components under guidance, including sensors, circuit boards, and connectors.Reassemble tools to operational specifications.Testing and Validation :Conduct basic functional tests on both mechanical and electronic systems to ensure proper operation after repair.
Report findings and any remaining issues to the repair supervisor.Documentation :Accurately record repair activities, parts used, and test results for internal tracking.
Qualifications : Required :
Mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of electronics (e.g., ability to test circuits or replace components).Experience with hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and basic diagnostic equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc).Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.Preferred :
Experience in repair or maintenance roles involving both mechanical and electronic systems (e.g., automotive, HVAC, or industrial equipment).Familiarity with basic electronic troubleshooting and repair techniques.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.What We Offer :
