Job Description: Associate Trader
Greenwich Commodities LLC is an energy trading company based in the US, with operational hubs in Metro Detroit, Michigan, and Metro Denver, Colorado. We specialize in Financial Transmission Rights (FTR) trading and Day-Ahead (DART) trading within wholesale competitive electricity markets across the United States. Position: Associate Trader
We are seeking a full-time Associate Trader to perform in-depth analysis using our energy trading platform and execute trades in major US power markets, including PJM, MISO, SPP, ERCOT, and others. The ideal candidate will have a solid analytical background, technical skills, and a strong interest in energy markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct data-driven analysis to support trading decisions in U.S. power markets.
- Utilize our proprietary energy trading platform to trade energy products.
- Analyze market trends and develop trading strategies based on quantitative models.
- Collaborate with the trading team to evaluate and improve trading performance.
- Identify trading opportunities and make creative, data-driven suggestions to optimize trading results.
Requirements:
- 1 year working experience or 2 years of research experience in energy, quantitative trading or statistical analysis.
- Advanced research experience demonstrated through a Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Statistics, Machine Learning, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Strong technical skills in handling and analyzing large datasets, with the ability to make informed decisions strictly based on data.
- Proficiency in programming, with a preference for Python and C/C .
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and propose innovative solutions.
- Strong communication skills and a self-starter mentality.
- Minimum GPA: 3.7/4.0
Compensation:
- Base Salary: The total compensation package ranges from $80,000 to $150,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
