What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activity Director position at Greenwood Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing?
Greenwood Village is seeking a full-time Activity Director to join our team. The ideal candidates must be devoted and compassionate about their chosen careers. The activity director will have experience working with individuals with dementia, have a highly enthusiastic personality, and be able to develop creative activities for our residents.
Responsibilities of Activity Director:
- Develops, maintains, and coordinates a monthly program of events and programs
- Establishes and maintains ongoing contacts with community organizations, churches, colleges, universities, cultural organizations, and other useful resources for program development.
- Recruits plan and manage volunteer opportunities for the community
- Manages, trains, and develops staff and volunteers
- Makes marketing presentations for community outreach efforts
- Works with marketing to assist in the planning of community/resident events
- Coordinates community outings to special events, lectures, for an active resident lifestyle
- One-to-one activities utilizing interpersonal needs to meet resident/client needs
- Projects a positive image of the organization in dealing with residents/clients, co-workers, and the public
Qualifications of Activity Director:
- The Activity Director must be an occupational therapist or therapy assistant, or therapeutic recreation specialist; or a certified activity director.
- At least two years of related experience
- A college degree strongly preferred.
