What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Greenwood Fabricating And Plating LLC?
SUMMARY: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in the Job Shop and Autolines (copper and aluminum) to plate parts in an efficient and timely manner according to customer expectations for delivery and quality. Instruct, motivate, lead, schedule, and follow job assignments of all hourly paid employees in the department.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
- Ensure employees are following all established safety rules and guidelines, work with employees to eliminate or reduce any potential hazards that arise.
- Work with the department manager to ensure that the materials on the floor align with the work scheduled.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and assign duties.
- Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Inspects and measures parts to verify conformance to specifications.
- Directs workers in making adjustments and/or adds to remake parts which fail to meet standards.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Develops, recommends, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop and safety.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Maintains time and production records.
- Conduct employee performance reviews.
- Work with department manager to set schedules, including weekend work, and tank maintenance.
- Assist department manager with other duties or special projects as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant leadership experience in a manufacturing field.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Sound understanding of production processes and manufacturing techniques.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Good analytical skills with data interpretation capabilities.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Pressure-handling and multiple-priority managing capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively with MS Office suite and ERP systems.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and apply technical drawings and specifications.
- Flexibility and willingness to accept new technology and procedures.
