Job Description
The Controls Technician will be responsible for assisting the Controls Engineer with project coordination and design, contract coordination, and plant troubleshooting, both electrical, PLC, and minor mechanical.
Responsibilities:
- Develop project scope of work with assistance from end user
- Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities
- Assist with developing bid documents/RFQs for A/E and contractor scope of work
- Support the site asset management and preventive maintenance programs
- Assist maintenance technicians with troubleshooting and repairing electric, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic instruments and systems used to control plant operations
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience as a Controls Technician
- Associates Degree in a technical field
- Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
- Ability to use AutoCAD or related type of drafting software
- Ability to use Microsoft Office software, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HDD Backup/Restore software, etc.
- Basic knowledge of automation software such as RSLOGIX 500, RSLOGIX 5000, FTA ME, SIEMENS STEP7 TIA PORTAL, WINCC, etc.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and sense of urgency
- Ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality of work
- Demonstrated ability to perform repetitive tasks with focus on quantity and quality
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate well with all levels of staff and management
