The Industrial Maintenance Custodian is responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, appearance, and general safety of the common areas within the facility, including the hangars, engine shops, other work areas and grounds. They work with minimal supervision to ensure their assigned areas are maintained in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition by performing various tasks using the necessary equipment and supplies.

The Industrial Maintenance Custodian is responsible for the maintenance, cleanliness, appearance, and general safety of the common areas within the facility, including the hangars, engine shops, other work areas and grounds. They work with minimal supervision to ensure their assigned areas are maintained in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition by performing various tasks using the necessary equipment and supplies.
Position Responsibilities - Essential
- Daytime waste removal, daily operation of a walk behind floor sweeper, and cleaning of all hangar floors.
- Spill clean-up and equipment cleaning
- Handling and moving of hazardous materials including waste blasting media, paint and petroleum-based products which requires wearing provided safety equipment including protective gloves, safety glasses or face shields, aprons, and a respirator may be required
- General repair, maintenance, and support as directed to keep the overall facility in operational condition and to preserve facility assets
- Completion of daily cleaning assignments Including hangars, engine shops and other work areas, and grounds
- Assist in the setting up of rooms for meetings, classes, conferences, etc.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and securely stores equipment and supplies
- Complete reports and logs as required
- Report equipment malfunctions, injuries, incidents, and accidents to the Site Manager immediately
- Maintain the landscaping to include mowing lawns, weed eating, trimming and clean up
- Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities
- Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a “safety-sensitive” position.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
- High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma
- Knowledge of and experience with general sanitary and safety practices
- Ability to complete a required pulmonary function test and a fit test to wear a respirator which requires the individual to be clean shaven
- Ability to work, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business necessity may require
- Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
- Post high school education or training
- One (1) year of relevant work experience in an industrial setting
