Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities with GVS:

 

  • Assists in the planning, scheduling and supervising of HC (Health Center) FOH (Front of House) personnel.
  • Assists in developing all menus for HC residents assessing preferences and nutritional needs. Assists Dietician in assuring staff education is provided to dietary personnel in accordance with the staff education plan plus provides on the job training for dietary personnel.
  • Assists in developing work assignments for all FOH personnel assigning specific jobs and spot checking work to ensure standards are met.
  • Maintains pertinent and appropriate records, reports, schedules and studies as required by local, state and federal regulations and otherwise requested.
  • Ensures orders are completed from approved vendors. Orders adequately for FOH needs in HC.
  • Assists as needed in maintaining individual diet information by updating the menu system when receiving diet orders.
  • Represents department in HC meetings including Resident Councils as needed, meeting with individual Residents and others as needed. Follows up on tasks for meetings and concerns of residents in a timely manner.
  • Supervises the appearance of community dining room tables, including table linens, napkins, silverware, table setup, centerpieces, etc. Ensures that FOH staff are following Uniform Policy.
  • Assists CDM in managing progressive discipline, attendance, and growth coaching for FOH staff.
  • Ensures that shifts are covered by engaging additional staff as needed and being on call. Communicates with CDM when necessary to ensure coverage.

    Other Duties:

     

  • Assists in providing on-the-job training for HC dining services personnel.
  • Manages budget and implements cost control measures.
  • Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
  • Attends meetings and provides regular feedback to Director of Dining Services on needs, issues and initiatives.
  • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

    Qualifications

    • GED or High School Diploma Required
    • High School graduate required.
    • A minimum of two years supervisory experience in food service operations, preferably in a health care setting.
    • Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates.
    • Ability to interpret and explain menus, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understand requests.
    • Be passionate for providing the best care to the residents we serve.
    • Enjoy working in a fast paced, changing work environment.
